Larisa Migachyov provides strategic advantage to clients with amazing technical education and legal experience

Larisa Migachyov brings ample technical and legal skill to the firm. She holds a Master's degree in biomechanical engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (minor in mathematics) from the University of Minnesota.

She has great sensitivity to the needs of inventors, having obtained a patent herself (U.S. Pat. No. 6,304,840) while at Stanford and invented several other devices.

 

After graduating, she worked as a mechanical engineer for several years before opening her own design consulting firm, serving individual inventors and assisting them with design for manufacturability, industrial design, prototype creation, and the drafting of patent drawings.

Ms. Migachyov passed the Patent Bar several years after working as an engineer, practiced in that capacity shortly and thereafter entered law school at the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout law school, Ms. Migachyov maintained a patent prosecution practice.

After graduating from law school, she worked for the prestigious firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, specializing in patent litigation, before opening an independent practice.

Ms. Migachyov is fluent in Russian and is very happy to work with Russian-speaking clients.

In her spare time, Ms. Migachyov composes and performs Ragtime music. She is the world’s most prolific female Ragtime composer.
